Funky DIY No-Sew Tulle Skirt

What you're going to need:

  • Scissors
  • Elastic Band
  • Thread
  • Needle
  • Tulle (Any color, and however many colors you want)
    • I used 11 yards of black tulle and 5 yards of the red tulle because I wanted it fluffy
  • Special Ribbion (Optional)
  • Thimble (Optional)
  • Pins (Optional)

How you're going to make it:

You are going to get the elastic band out of it's package.  Then you are going to mesure it around your waist  and leave a little bit of it to overlap it.  You want to leave enough to be snugg so it will stay up.  If there is extra elastic band go ahead and cut it off.

Next

You are going to need an adult to help you with this.  You are going to sew the overlapping part.  And this is where that optional 'pin' is going to come in.  If you want to keep it still you just put that pin through the middle of the overlapping part of the elastic band.  And you are going to sew it (I suggest you use thick thread) and I also sewed both sides of it just in case. You don't have to though.  This is also where the thimble comes in during the project (You may not need it though, Mom!) With the color of the thread you may use whatever color you would like.

If you need help figuring out how to put the tulle like it is, check out this YouTube Video

Every piece of tulle shoud be at least 1 foot in width and my tulle was 54 inches long.  That way in hung just below my knees.  You may go as crazy as you want to with the colors! Oh, I forgot to tell you that if your child is a baby or toddler you might want to make the tulle shorter!!  First layer is done!!
Last

Last I am adding a fun color onto it and it's finished.  That is a no sew skirt!!
